1. Dugal McQueen. Arrival in 1716 in Maryland. Born in 1690 in Moy, Inverness-shire, Scotland. Dugal died in Carroll, Maryland, USA, in 1746; he was 56.

WILL OF DUGAL MACQUAIN
Baltimore County: In the name of God amen. Know ye that I, Dugal
Macquain, being very sick and weak but of sound and perfect mind and memory, but
calling to mind the mortality of man and knowing that it is appointed for all
men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
In pais res: I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty God
that gave it to me and my body to be decently buried according to the
discretion of my executrix.
Item: My will and pleasure is that my son William shall have my "Fear
Nothing Coat" and my new jacket.
Item: I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas all wearing cloaths except
my white coat which I give unto my son-in-law John Brown.
Further my will and pleasure is that the bond which I have of John Rees
to be signed over to Mr. Alexander Lawson for security for the money which I
owe unto him  And lastly of all my will and pleasure is that my well beloved wife,
Grace Macquain shall be my whole and sole executrix of this my last will and
testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty
six day of March in the year of our Lord seventeen hundred and forty six.

    Joshua McQueen survey of 100 acres. By virtue of a certificate granted
    George Brown and by him 100 acres assigned unto Joshua McQueen obtained
    before the commissioners appointed to settle titles and grant lands in
    the counties of Yohogania, Mongalia and Ohio for four hundred acres of
    land in Yohogania County aforesaid situate on Harmons Run I have
    surveyed for the said Joshua McQueen 100 acres above mentioned situated on the
    waters of Harmons Run. Beginning at a maple on the side of the drain
    the same being a corner of John Sappingtons Land thence running with
    Sappingtons line .... Surveyed Dec 15, 1783 by Dan Leet.

    deed dated Nov 1, 1790 from Richard Elosn, power of attorney for Joshua
    McQueen and Margret his wife of Madison Co., Virginia, to Robert
    Tevis in consideration of 100 pounds who had purchased such land and authorized
    McQueen to convey the land to Robert Tevis a tract of land on
    Harmons Run in Ohio County formerly Yougania County, being the land described in a    patent from Patrick Henry, Governor of Virginia to Joshua McQueen as
    assignee of George Brown, same real estate as described in above
    survey.

    obituary in Commonwealth, Frankfort, Ky. May 2, 1853 published in
    Kentucky Historical Society Magazine Vol 28, p. 279, 1930 - Joshua
    McQueen of this County, a soldier of the Revolution, departed this
    life a few days ago, aged about 106. He was appointed Sergent by Gen
    Washington, the father of his country, which post h held uring the War.

    p. 543: Joshua McQueen, a pious layman, lived in the same county. He
    was born in Baltimore Co., Md. Oct 15, 1746 and died April 17, 1853. He was
    nearly 107 years old. He bore a conspicuous part in the Revolutionary
    War, and was in the battles of Germantown, Monmouth, Brandywine, and in
    the siege of the Blackhouse, and was in many skirmishes with the
    Indians during at our to the west with McIntosh. He came to Kentucky in
    1790, and in 1795 under the ministry of John Pace was converted and brought into
    the Methodist Church. He removed to Franklin Co. in 1832. Marriage
    Ceremony to Margaret Baxter was at Mingo Bottoms .. now know as Brooke,
    West Virginia.

    Hechler, Metes and Bounds. Other descendants believe Thomas's widow
    Elizabeth Berry then married William West who was a trader on the Ohio
    River. Joshua McQueen states he was living on the Ohio River in 1774
    with William West.

    Between 1770-1774 the Wells, Baxters, Browns, Sappingtons, and McQueens
    moved from the Great Cove to what would become Brooke Co. W. Va. and
    Washington Co., Pa. Alexander Wells, son of Richard Wells, Sr. acquired
    land on Cross Creek and established first fort in the area. in 1773
    John Sappington and William West settled on Harman's Run and in fall of 1773
    Joshua McQueen was living in a cabin on Harman's Run with William West.
    Harman's Run named after Marman Greathouse. On Mar 8, 1785 received
    patnent for 800 acres which included part of present day Weirton, W. Va.

    Madison Co., Ky. aged about 63 and he had lived there since 1795; he applied
    for BLW May 24, 1832, Fayette Co., Ky.

    Soon after this (settlement at Wheeling Creek by Zne, Sheaprd, Wetzel,
    McCulloughs), other settlements
    were made at different points, above and below Wheeling; and the
    country on Buffalo, Short and Grave Creeks, and o the Ohio River became the
    abode of civilized man. Among those who were the first to occupy above
    Wheeling were George Lefler, John Doddridge, Benjamin Bigs, Daniel Greathouse,
    Joshua Baker and Andrew Swearingen. The settlement thus made
    constituting the advance guard, through which an Indian enemy would have to
    penetrate, before they could reach interior, others were less reluctant to occupy
    the country between them and the Allegheny mountains. Accordingly
    various establishments were soon made in it by adventurers from different parts
    of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia; and those places in which
    settlement had previously been effected received considerable
    accessions
    to their population."

    Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia, extracted
    from the original court records of Augusta County, 1745-1800 by Lyman Chalkley,

    William Baxter v. James Campbell, Sr. and John Swearingen - Bill
    filed in Ohio County, Mar 6, 1797 - O.S. 32, N.S. 11. In 1773 William West
    and   John Sappington came into Ohio County (now Brooke) and made
    settlement on Harmon'sRun and resided there until 1774 when they were driven away by the Indians. They returned in 1775 and found James Campbell's tenant in
    possession. Long before Orator's settlement, Nathaniel Tomlinson had
    made a settlement on Harmon's Run which claim Campbell bought. Tomlinson
    made settlement in 1772 and Campbell bought in 1773. Philip Beale deposes
    Apr
    27, 1778 at house of Col Richard Brown in Holyday's Cove in Brooke Co.,
    was acquainted with the land in 1772-73. In 1773 William West and
    Joshua McQueen were living on the land in a cabin. James Campbell's son, John,
    purchased of Tomlinson. In 1773 deponent assisted James Campbell in
    raising a cabin. George Brown and a party of men came before it was
    completed and compelled them to desist. Richard Wells deposes at same
    time and place to same effect. John Alexander deposes and same time and
    to same effect. Following desposition taken at hoime of John Sappington
    in Madison Co. Apr 27, 1798. Cap John Sappington, a justice of the
    peace and lately a representative for Madison Co. George Brown, a minister of
    the Methodist Society. Joshua McQueen deposes at same time and to same
    effect. James Campbell, Jr. sone of James, Sr. represented James, Sr.
    John Toland deposes in Ohio County that in 1773 James Campbell
    bought the land from Tomlinson, and deponent was surety for the purchase price.
    Margaret Langford, daughter of James Campbell, deposes in Ohio County.
    Richard Boyce deposes in Washington Co., Pa. Jan 15, 1799 that in 1775
    James Kerns employed him to plow ground. James Kerns desposes in
    Washington Co., Pa., 1799, that in 1775 he was teneant for James
    Campbell. William Griffith deposes in 1799 that James Campbell, Sr. is
    about 80. James Campbell Jr deposes in Brooke Co. May 31m, 1798 that in
    1773 spring he and his brother John came to Ohio County. John bought
    the
    land from Tomlinson and improved it, and was drowned. In the fall
    Joshua
    McQueen came. Campbell had the land surveyed by Benjaim Johnstone after
    the death of Col. Wiliam Crawford. John Greathouse deeposes Jan 25,
    1799.

On 6 Oct 1956 when Patricia was 19, she married Glen Henry Bennett, son of Benjamin H Bennett & Mary Watson, in Reno, Washoe, Nevada. Born on 5 Feb 1926 in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Born in 1926. Glen passed away 13 Oct 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. 

Glen Henry Bennett- Born 5 Feb 1926 in Fort Gibson Oklahoma, went home to be with the Lord on 13 Oct 2010 in Sacramento California. Glen was a loving and devoted husband, brother, uncle and father figure. Glen served our Country in World War II. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Patricia McQueen Bennett, his brothers Cecil and Franklin and his sister Roxie Tate. Brother In Law Theodore McQueen, Sister In Laws Etta Bennett, Janet Bennett, Elinor Lester, Irine Brown and Josephine McQueen. Children -Rebecca Bryant (Jerry), Shelly Peters (Rory) and Clyde Brown (Kathleen) Grand Children Jacob Bryant, Rachel Bryant, Zane Peters (Sarah), Glen, Rory, Katherin, and Irine Grace Peters, Andrew Brown and many other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Watson Bennett, father Benjamin H. Bennett, brothers Harrison, Thomas and Charlie and sister Rethal Scott. Internment will be private.

They had no biological children, but were very important parts of the lives of Patricia's sister Irine's Children, Rebecca, Shelly and Clyde.

On 15 Jun 1962 when Irine/Irene was 18, she married Clyde Leroy Brown, son of Andrew Lovel Brown & Edna Agnes Beshears, in Sacramento, Sacramento, California, USA. Born on 18 Feb 1943 in Aurora, Missouri, USA. Clyde Leroy died in Sacramento, Sacramento, California, on 30 May 2008; he was 65. Clyde was cremated and his remains given to his family.

Clyde LeRoy Brown
Born 18 Feb 1943 in Aurora Missouri , went home to be with the Lord on 30 May 2008. He was surrounded by his loving family. A loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be so greatly missed by all who knew him. Clyde came to California as a young man and stayed to marry the love of his life and raise his family. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Irine, his children Rebecca Bryant of Antelope and her husband Jerry, his daughter Shelly Peters of North Highlands and her husband Rory and his son Clyde Henry of Sacramento and his wife Kathleen. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; Jacob & June Bryant, Raechel & Jason Dunn, Zane & Sarah Peters, Glen, Rory, Irine and Katherin Peters and Andrew Brown. He is survived by his sisters Buelah Seigrist in Missouri and Joyce Brown in Oregon, brothers and sisters in law Glen & Pat Bennett, Albert & Josephine McQueen, Theodore McQueen and Elinor Lester all from Sacramento as well as a many of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Edna Brown of Missouri as well as his brothers Franklin, Dewey, Don, Clinton, Clouy and sisters, Nola, Rosetta, Bonnie, Thelma.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Clyde Brown Memorial Fund through Living Hope Community Church P.O. Box 2332 Citrus Heights, CA. 95611. No services will be held. Internment will be private.
